100 Years of Holt: Silver Lake, Michigan Family Reunion

Adequately putting into words what a most excellent weekend this was, is no easy feat. The Hold extended family is such a vibrant and unique group of people who celebrate family and the beauty of summer.

I took the ferry across Lake Michigan from Milwaukee to Michigan coast (so fun!). Amanda was kind enough to pick me up and fill me in on the history of the Holt family. With my new found obsession with local histories, and on-going love of sociology I was enthralled. It was even more exciting to be welcomed with open arms to the beautiful land this family has nourished over the past 100 years. There was laughing, dancing, singing, eating, boating, and so much more. From the kick of pig roast to small family sessions and an evening on the dunes, I am beyond honored to have captured such a wonderful coming together of families.
