Kaya + Pat's Micro Wedding | Backyard, New York
You know these two, if you have been following along you may already know about their journey. If you don’t let me enlighten you. Kaya + Pat celebrated their love, with a micro wedding - not in the exact way they had planned, but intimately with their families under a crab apple tree.
These two are high school sweet hearts, they have weathered more than 10 years together. Celebrated so much together, have a sweet boxer pup, their home and have been through some downs together too. We have all be waiting for this celebration and union then, as we all know the world seemed to fall apart. Both of these love buns are frontline workers. They didn’t get to complain about working from home, rather they went daily to serve the public and work their asses off to keep people safe + healthy. They decided, FU COVID, we are getting married. And maybe it isn’t the big party they had been planning for a year, but it sure was filled with the same amount of love.
Talk about back yard wedding! The day we H-O-T! But per summer in NY the heat and humidity come with the most amazing thunder storms. Their ceremony was in full sun, and not an hour later the sky was black - I was into it, can you say “amazing lighting?” We put that bubble umbrella to good, for real, use and hurried our butts inside once we were more likely to get hit by lightning than not. Just as we wrapped up dinner, a double rainbow popped up in the back yard. To say this day was magical and special in its very own way would be an understatement.
Love you two, so happy that I was not only able to celebrate but also photograph this day for you.
It was beyond an honor to celebrate so many years of love. I adore you and can’t wait to hug you both again soon! Wishing you every single joy life has to offer.
